Acumera provides network security and management services, tools, and applications. We give multi-site retailers high-speed connectivity, strong security, and unmatched visibility to support IT, business intelligence, operations management, and the bottom line.
Based in Austin, Texas, Acumera was founded in 2002 by the pioneers of broadband Internet access for business travelers. After successfully launching Wayport (now ATT Wi-Fi Services) — the leading supplier of Ethernet connections in hotel rooms and the leading supplier of for-fee 802.11 “hotspot” wireless access to the public — Dirk Heinen and Brett Stewart wanted to bring the benefits of secure, reliable connectivity to retailers.
Today, Acumera is a leader in managed security, network visibility, and automation services for the payment systems and operations of multi-site retail businesses. By using Acumera’s services, remote visibility dashboard, robust data security, and simplified compliance services, our customers can focus on growing their businesses. Acumera is a trusted network partner for thousands of networks.
Chief Executive Officer Dirk Heinen teamed with his colleague Brett Stewart to form Acumera in 2002 after the two successfully led the deployment and management of wired and wireless Internet access service for hotels and meeting rooms as co-founders of Wayport (now ATT Wi-Fi Services).
