Acumera selects Novatel Wireless IoT managed services bundle as failover solution for Fortune 500 retailer

Service enables convenience store and petroleum company to implement failover solution requirement to retail locations nationwide

SAN DIEGO and AUSTIN, TEXAS – Novatel Wireless, Inc. (Nasdaq:MIFI), a leading global provider of solutions for the Internet of Things, including software-as-a-service (SaaS), is collaborating with Acumera to offer multi-site retailers a secure and reliable wireless failover solution for systems dependent on internet connectivity such as cash registers, fuel pumps at gas stations, and surveillance cameras.

Acumera, the leading provider of Trusted Connections Services for retail organizations, has added a Novatel Wireless IoT solutions bundle comprised of hardware and managed services. The managed services include airtime, device management with the Crossroads SaaS platform, and support to its suite of connectivity and failover solutions. The package is now being offered to retail fuel station and convenience store owner-operators nationwide as a part of Acumera’s new Processor Connections Service that they are providing to a Fortune 500 retailer, which requires all of its locations to maintain a failover solution.

“Business continuity solutions are a critical resource for our customer base because network connectivity drives nearly every aspect of the convenience store business,” said Tom Yemington, vice president of sales and marketing at Acumera. “We needed a partner that could simplify the implementation and management of a reliable and secure failover system and handle the full lifecycle of the solution for our customers; Novatel Wireless proved to be the perfect fit.”

The cost-effective cellular failover service was designed to help businesses reduce operational costs and improve the customer experience, while addressing the security requirements of the Payment Card Industry.

“In today’s data driven environment, businesses require resilient, redundant network solutions that allow them to remain operational in the event of an outage,” said Sue Swenson, CEO of Novatel Wireless. “We layer best-in-class security, reliability, and support into a powerful networking solution that meets the demands of the Internet of Things.”
